A Voice of Light in the Darkness: Training, Transfers, and More

In our last Zone Training Meeting, we were taught 5 parts of effective time management (Chapter 8 of PMG):

1. Vision: As missionaries the Mission President provides the vision, but in our lives the Lord does.

2. Goals: Goals reflect the desire of our hearts and must be made after connecting to heaven.

3. Planning: Planning is a revelatory process. As we plan with the Spirit, we help those we serve in His way.

4. Action: We can set goals and make plans all we want, but we have to Act. We have to do the work.

5. Accountability: We are accountable to ourselves, to each other, and to the Lord for all we do.

In summary, goals and planning are ours. As we connect to heaven and set inspired goals and plan with the Spirit, blessings will flow. Elder Holland has stated, we are all God’s investigators; and he has provided a vision as to what we can accomplish on this earth. It is up to us to set our own goals and make our own plans to accomplish those goals. As we implement the plans we have made, we are blessed to accomplish the work, His work, for ourselves and for those around us whom we serve. Accountability then becomes a wonderful rewarding process. This pattern is truly a pattern that will bless our lives now and in the years to come.

Tomorrow is the last transfer we will be here for. We lose Sister Case (who is going to Bennington to serve with Sister Thao) and Elder Nipko (who is going to Rome to serve with Elder Fortin). Their two new companions have served in Albany in the past are are two of our favorite missionaries. They will be in good hands. The two new missionaries assigned to our branch are new to the mission and being trained. We look forward to meeting and working with them.
