If you don't like the weather . . .

When we first came to NY 4 years ago, we were told that if you don't like the weather, wait a minute.  We have come to know what that means.

Sunday, this is what we woke up to.

Overnight we had light but steady snowfall . . . maybe 2-3 inches . . . so the day began with a winter wonderland.  But by afternoon we will be in the mid-50's.  Crazy weather but it has been a mild winter (except last weekend), so we won't complain.

On more important news . . . meet baby Jacob who is just over a week old.  We are excited that he is healthy and safely with his family in Michigan.  We'll get to meet him in a few more days.

Speaking of a few more days, our mission in Albany comes to a close on Thursday, February 25th as we teach our last institute class.  Early the next morning we will begin a loooooooong drive toward Mesa.  Hopefully we can dodge any storms that come our way.

It is difficult to describe our feelings right now.  Part of us is excited to reunite with family and friends and to sleep in our own bed and part of us is reluctant to leave the people we have come to love through service.  When we get home, things will necessarily change; and change is hard.  We go home to a new ward, a new neighborhood (18 new homes built across from us), and new beginnings. 

We are thankful for prayers, love, and support that have come from so many over the last 18 months.
