Last Monday we joined our district for an activity at the New York State Capitol Building in downtown Albany.
One of the impressive features of the tour is the million-dollar staircase pictured below.
The building, completed in 1899 at a cost of $25 million (worth approximately half a billion current dollars), was the most expensive government building of its time.
It was an interesting way to spend an afternoon.
