A Short Trip South

This past week we took a day and visited some sites in the southern part of New York and in northern Pennsylvania.

Our CES supervisor invited us last-minute to join him to meet up with a colleague teaching a group of youth from Pennsylvania about the Priesthood Restoration site and nearby homes significant to church history.

We enjoyed seeing the improvements that are nearing completion for dedication in a couple of months. The church sites continue to improve with each visit, and we learn more and more every time we visit them.  We heard some fabulous stories at our first stop by a descendant of one of the original members of the Colesville Branch.

Our trip was cut short because we had dinner to serve and a lesson to teach to the young single adults. Afterwards we headed to the stake center to attend a meeting for the stake youth conference coming up the end of August.

Just when we expected to call it a day, we received a call from president that two sisters in the area were at the hospital, so we headed back to Albany. They ended up coming home with us for the night.  Never a dull moment or two days that are exactly alike.
