Released on Easter Sunday

We just returned from seeing our stake president and being released from our mission.  There was a very special and strong spirit present, and we enjoyed sharing with our priesthood leader some of the highlights of the past year.

As we left his office, I realized that our release came on Easter Sunday.  Somehow, the timing made what occurred more special.  It was a day that represents for us the Savior, His willingness to do the Father's will, His mission of selfless love for us, His hope of eternal life through faithfulness and obedience.

We add our witness that God lives, that Jesus Christ is our Savior, and that His gospel has been restored to the earth complete with living prophets, temples, and the keys of the Holy Priesthood.  We further witness that the temple is a place of peace, of refuge, of refinement, of sealing families together, of receiving essential sacred ordinances that are necessary to return to our Heavenly Father, of receiving personal revelation.  Most of all, we witness that it is a place of spiritual strength to face every challenge and overcome every temptation.

A chapter closes today, but we look forward to more chapters of service and more missions in the years ahead.
