We're Home

Last night about 5 p.m. we drove into our driveway in Mesa after a week of traveling from New York to Arizona by way of Utah - a distance of approximately 2700 miles.  

It's good to be home!

Later this morning, we meet with our new stake president to be released.  A new chapter begins . . .

Our last 2 mission events included attending a sealing of some good friends on Friday evening and teaching a stake women’s conference workshop the following morning.  (We couldn't write a better ending!) After that we drove to Toledo (about  5 hours away) and helped Emily and the girls celebrate Scott’s birthday.  We slipped out early the next morning and headed to Lincoln, NE for the night - a very long day!  The following day we got as far as Laramie, WY.  We were grateful for all the clear weather.  

On Tuesday morning we arrived in Provo about 10 a.m. and met James, our new grandson, for the first time.  He was 6 days old. Two days later, we slipped in a quick trip to Roy to visit with Grandpa and for Doug to help with several outdoor projects (i.e. trimming trees, hauling limbs, and harrowing the pastures).  Utah was having some beautiful spring weather.  Friday afternoon we went back to Provo to sit with James so his parents could have a date night and to get a head start on our drive the next day.  

Early Saturday we were on the road again.  At 1 p.m. we arrived in Flagstaff and took Rachel out for lunch at Olive Garden. We enjoyed catching up on her busy life.

It was nice to be able to visit 3 of our 6 children enroute. 

Looking back, it has been a good week, but we are sure tired of sitting in and riding in our car!
