Wedding Memories

Last Saturday our beautiful daughter, Kristi, was married to Jason Quist in the Mesa Arizona Temple.

To attend, we left our mission last Wednesday morning and returned on Monday evening.  

When asked what she would change about her wedding day if she could, Kristi quickly responded, "Nothing!"  That's how we felt about the weekend as well.

It was wonderful to have all six children home together.  They came from five states . . . Ohio, Georgia, Texas, Utah, Arizona . . . and of course we flew in from New York.

How grateful we were for the blessing of good weather in the middle of winter for both the incoming and outgoing flights!

The highlight of the 5 days in Arizona was the sealing on Saturday.  It was supported not only by both families but also by temple friends (Kristi works at the temple on Saturday mornings), ASL friends, and others.  Having her best friend, Andrea, show up unexpectedly to be with her from out-of-state started her day off right.  The ASL coordinator signed the ceremony for the those attending who were deaf.  As the sealer said, one of their own was married that day and so there was a special feeling in the temple.

Below are a few pictures of the decorations of the reception. Kristi wore the same wedding dress I wore 30 years ago, and she remodeled my veil to include a magnolia at the top.  She looked both radiant and beautiful.

The reception had a southern theme, and the prominent flowers were her favorite - magnolias.

It was an exhausting few days, but the memories made and the happiness shared were worth it!
