They visit Niagara Falls to check out the ice bridge and to just have fun being together.
Although we have been to the falls on several occasions in the past, we have never been in the winter. Check out these pictures of the ice and beauty of nature on the Niagara River. Here, directly below the observation deck near the bridge into Canada, the river is frozen over. (The walls of the crevices you see in the center of the picture were about 10 feet high.) Our guide, who was born in the area, told of his grandparents actually walking across the ice to the Canada side.
Along with the falls, we enjoyed lunch together (11 couples) at Como's Italian Restaurant, visited Di Camillo's - a local bakery - and ate our first cannoli, and toured the New York Power Authority's powerplant which generates 2.4 million kilowatts of electricity - enough to power nearly 2 million households.
It was a great way to spend the day!
