We are back from spending a wonderful weekend in the northern part of the state and in Vermont. We can now say we have been from the northern border of New York to the southern border (excluding the NYC area) . . . and from the western border to the eastern boarder. There is no part of the state that we haven't completely enjoyed experiencing.
Monday evening, upon our return, we attended an Appreciation Dinner at the president's home for all the missionary couples leaving later in the month, some as early as next week. By the end of the next 2-3 weeks, all the summer missionaries (15 couples) will be gone; and we will be down to six year-round couples serving in the Palmyra Temple. There were just four couples of us less than a month ago, but one of the summer missionary couples extended for six months, and a new couple arrived just a few days ago. We expect a real shift in the activity and routine to which we have become accustomed.
The weather has turned chilly, and the leaves are falling. Ready or not, winter is just around the corner.
