This past week we enjoyed the first corn from the garden. It was so sweet and tender and delicious.
Early this morning Doug went outside to work in the garden and found that a raccoon had had a feast overnight.
Remember how the garden looked as it started out a couple of months ago?
Compare it with the garden now.
Note the electronic scarecrow (with the hose attached) to keep deer from getting in the garden. It comes on suddenly when it detects movement.
And here is what Doug discovered this morning.
To prevent any further loss, we helped our friends pick, shuck, blanche, and freeze corn today.
When Mr. Raccoon returns tonight, won't he be surprised!
