On Monday the year-round missionaries had a picnic on the lawn of the missionary housing located at the bottom of temple hill (where the Shumways live). The occasion was to say good-bye to the Humpherys who complete their 18-month mission this coming Monday. When they leave, we'll be down to five couples (not counting the six-month couples who leave the end of October). We enjoyed visiting and bonding before leaving for our weekly Family Home Evening where Elder Ellsworth taught the lesson. He did a wonderful job, receiving several very nice compliments. The topic covered the Restoration of the Priesthood, the Witnesses, and the Publishing of the Book of Mormon.
The house in the background is one owned by the church where a member of the temple presidency lives. The president's home is a quarter mile further up the street (on the other side of the temple). For those familiar with this area, we are east of the Sacred Grove, west of the temple, and on part of the original Smith farm.
