Gathering in the Grove

This past weekend was “Gathering in the Grove”, a young single adult conference.  This is the time of year when President Sherwood opens the temple at midnight to accommodate YSA’s who have driven hundreds of miles and who want to do sessions in the wee hours.  

Because we worked both Friday night and Saturday morning, we weren’t invited to stay all night, but there were sessions at 10:30 p.m., 11 p.m., midnight, and two more the next morning - all filled with YSA's.

"Gathering in the Grove is a multi-regional, Young Single Adult conference open to members and non-members who would like to join us for the weekend. It is a weekend full of fun activities, including a "No-Talent" talent show, dance, sports, games, campfire, socializing, and lots of great food!

This year's spiritually uplifting opportunities include the famous midnight temple sessions at the Palmyra Temple, service projects, and a chance to hear several times from our Keynote speaker, Alex Boyé, a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and former member of an English Boy Band called "Awesome." This year's theme is "Then Sings My Soul" – D&C 25:12” 

Young single adults from Canada, Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio and other areas filled the temple and enjoyed the spirit of the Cradle of the Restoration.
