4000th Visitor

Saturday we helped take 20 branch members to the Priesthood Restoration Site. We spent several hours and continued to learn of the important events that occurred there.

Our guide, Elder Walker (director of the site) told us that they expected to reach the milestone of 4000 visitors on that busy day; and that even though the seasons have changed, it continues to be busy with people coming from all over to see what the site has become.  It has been open to the public less than 2 months now.

coincidentally arrived at the same time as our group, so they joined us.

We were surprised at how low the river was.  The picture below is of Mark standing on the rocks in what is usually the middle of the river.

grave of the Smith's infant firstborn child.

It was a good day.  While we walked, a few snowflakes fell - our first to see this season.  It was a chilly mid-40's kind of day with a cold, biting wind.  But the brilliant fall colors on the hillsides coming and going were spectacular.
