Small and Simple Things

Last week we went to a home east of Saratoga Springs to visit a home-study seminary class. While talking about 2-3 church historical sights nearby, this young high school student enthusiastically told us about her visit to the Sacred Grove with the youth a while back and about what they were taught.  She told about the fallen witness tree and about standing on the stump to have her picture taken there.  She explained to us how they (the youth) are now the witnesses to share the First Vision with the world.  Without us saying anything, we both immediately knew that Brother Baker had presented at that youth conference; and we knew further that the person he quoted was our daughter.  It's kind of amazing if you think about it . . . we are 2000 miles from home, meeting a young girl who lives out-of-the-way in an area unknown to us, quoting a principle that our daughter had discovered on her visit to the grove which was taught by our CES supervisor (someone the young girl didn't know). Small world!  Small and simple things.
