This week we did not drive
to Pennsylvania on Saturday as we usually do. We prepared a picnic lunch for those in
our ward who came to Palmyra for a ward temple day. We had 20 members (15 adults and 5 youth) make the 6-hour
round-trip drive to be at the temple by 10 a.m. I thought of how many ward temple nights I have attended with fewer numbers, and the drive was only ten minutes.
We have the opportunity to
make that same round-trip drive tomorrow. Like it was for them, it will be a long day for us; but the
sacrifice will be worth it.
President Monson said: “Our lives of service and sacrifice are
the most appropriate expressions of our commitment to serve the Master and our
fellowmen.”
He also taught: “No sacrifice is too great to obtain
the blessings available in Holy Temples.”
