We have kept busy our first week in Dallas. When we haven't been on the go (leaving our apartment at or before 5:30 a.m.), we have crashed for a nap before going again. It's all good, but we must be getting old to be so tired!
From Sunday to Thursday, we've attended the following:
Early-morning Seminary Teacher Inservices: 4
YSA Institute classes: 4
Missionary Zone Conference (9a-2p)
Misc other meetings: 7
Hours of driving: 10-12

This week has been busier than most will be because of summer Seminary Inservice training, held four times for each of the four stakes (a total of 16 classes). On the four weeks when these are held, we go four days in a row to start class at 6 a.m. and we drive anywhere from 20-40 minutes to get to each location. One day, there was a bad accident on the "High Five" that shut down all on-ramps and exits to the main freeways in four directions. That day, a 35-minute drive going to the meeting took us over 2 hours from which to return.
At least we are getting to know Dallas...and Plano...and Richardson...and Heath. We'd be lost if we didn't have our phones giving us directions. We've also been to Frisco (where the mission home is) and Allen (where a summer institute class is held at 7:30 a.m. for mostly RM's who are here for the summer doing pest control and can't attend during the day or evening).
We were pleasantly surprised last Sunday to see almost a hundred YSA's at church and on Monday night to see close to 40 show up for FHE. The program is much stronger in this area than in our previous mission, but there are many others who need to be found and invited back.
When fall comes, we'll be visiting 4-5 college campuses and attending institute classes held there. We're told we will be teaching at least one of them.
