On Monday of our second week at the MTC we received instruction from a different set of instructors, Brother Saunders and Brother Simmons. For the next 2 1/2 days, we covered 14 new-teacher lessons using the Gospel Teaching and Learning manual. In addition we watched the annual seminary teacher training presented by Elder and Sister Renlund (also Brother Chad Webb and Elder Kim Clark). It was excellent! Tuesday night’s devotional this week was presented by Elder Nattress and his wife. On Wednesday at noon we finished our S & I (seminary and institute) training and packed our bags to leave.
That night we caught a flight home to Mesa. We had almost everything boxed up there and ready to load into the car; so we did a load of laundry, ran to the bank, and completed other similar tasks before going to bed. At 4:15 am Thursday, we headed for Texas. At noon we crossed the border and stopped for lunch at Rudy’s. We spent the night in Ft. Stockton, and on Friday afternoon we arrived at Emily and Scott’s to enjoy a short visit with them and our grandchildren. The next day we arrived in Dallas about noon. We spent the rest of the day moving into our apartment and getting settled.
