Transfer Time Again

Last Wednesday we helped with transfers for the elders and sisters. This means we drive missionaries to and from the mission office in Utica and have the opportunity to be part of the meetings and lunch held that day. Our district lost Sis. Carlson and Elder Ward and gained Sis. Chandler and an Elder we haven't had the opportunity to meet yet.

We never tire of hearing from our mission president and his wife as they welcome, orient, and motivate the new missionaries and give inspired counsel to the new trainers.  We love observing the 30-minute gathering where new assignments are made and companionships formed. The anticipation on both sides is visible in their countenances.  The best meeting is the testimony meeting where the out-going elders and sisters share their tender feelings one last time in the mission.  This transfer we had about a dozen missionaries leaving.  It is such a bitter-sweet time for them as one chapter closes and another begins.

Below is a picture of our Albany district before it changed.

Elders Thompson and Speakman are the Zone Leaders, and Elder Fortine is the District Leader.
