While
there is more that could be written about our time in Israel, this covers the
highlights of our trip. We loved
our time there and feel changed by the things we saw and experienced. We could go back another time and fill
our days with new and equally interesting sites; this country has so much to
offer in the way of history. While
the travel has come to an end, the learning process is ongoing; and we reflect
again and again on the places we visited and what makes them significant.
In
closing, we wish to express sincere appreciation to our friend Matt Baker who
organized this trip and guided us in an unofficial way throughout our many adventures,
all the time teaching and sharing his tremendous enthusiasm for the Holy Land. Without him we could not have done the
things we did or had this type of a trip.
We
also express appreciation to our friend Brent Walton, a professional photographer
living in the Rochester, New York area, who took close to 5000 pictures during
the 13 days we were gone. It wasn’t
until the trip was over that we realized how indebted we are to him for his
tireless efforts in photographing every aspect of our trip and eliminating the
need for us to carry a camera or worry about taking pictures individually at
every stop. Our trip will live on
in our memories through the moments so skillfully captured through his
photography.
