Weekend Service

On the weekends, we travel two hours to the west and south of Palmyra to attend church in a small branch.  We are assigned to go there every week for the duration of our mission to serve and to help any way we can.

Sunday was our first visit.  They have a very nice chapel, and it is actually in the northern part of the Pittsburg, Pa. mission.  There were about 50 members in attendance at sacrament meeting.  The branch president is relocating out-of-state with his work, so the branch is in transition with new leadership.

We met some wonderful people and look forward to visiting again next Sunday.  Five of the members are college students at the nearby university.  This is their last week of classes, and then they have finals and will be gone for the summer.  Yesterday we saw the Relief Society president and her husband at the temple . . . a four-hour round trip for them.
