Like a Dream . . .

This has been a busy week . . . 6 shifts from Tuesday to Saturday.  That totals about 35 hours.  We come home tired but happy.  One of the best parts of our week has been getting acquainted with all the good people we work with.  The challenge is remembering what we learn about each one and not confusing one person with another.

We have six other couples serving as year-round temple missionaries.  One couple leaves in July, but another comes.  Just this week we had 16 couples – summer missionaries – arrive, and they are living in Zion’s Camp in their trailers.  They will cover the extra sessions that begin May 1st because of the extended summer schedule.  They also cover Mondays when the year-round missionaries have their preparation day.

We LOVE the temple, and we enjoy serving together every day.  The other day on break, I was reading from Joseph Smith’s History in the scriptures about the First Vision.  I just happened to be sitting next to the window that looks out over the grove.  As I read, I’d look outside and think . . .

“This is where it happened.”

It took on new meaning to be studying the restoration in the very area where these sacred events occurred.

We can hardly wait until pageant time comes.
Sometimes, life feels like a dream.
We plan to get a better picture of us in front of the temple . . . together . . . on a day when it isn't quite so windy.

Here is a picture of our home away from home.
We live in a cozy apartment in back.
We feel very blessed to be assigned here.
We have everything we need and then some.
The best part is our wonderful neighbors who
are fast becoming good friends.
Life is good, the gospel is true,
and there is a special spirit
working in this area where the church of Jesus
Christ was restored once again to the earth.
